Welcome!
Hello there! Welcome to The Closet Journal!
The idea of creating an inspiring platform where I could share my thoughts on a simple wardrobe, responsible fashion, and intentional living has been circulating in my head for a long time. And honestly, I couldn't be more excited to finally share this space with you!
As we all know, Instagram has changed a lot over the last few years. And don't get me wrong—I'm so grateful for everything that's happened to me because of social media, and I still love connecting with you all there. However, this summer, I noticed that instead of feeling inspired, I feel more and more overwhelmed by this app, and creating content doesn't bring me as much joy as it used to.
For almost two years, I've been diving deep into the capsule wardrobe concept and sustainable fashion—topics I'm super passionate about! Since I built a functional wardrobe and learned how to enjoy my daily outfits and personal style again, I can finally focus on more important and enjoyable things than wasting time standing in front of my closet. However, what has been bothering me lately is that, on the one hand, I write about how decluttering and minimizing my belongings around me has positively influenced my purchasing decisions, wardrobe, and everyday life. But on the other hand, my Instagram feed screams the opposite. With all the outfit pics and styling videos, you might assume my life revolves around clothes and shopping—when, in reality, I don't care about fashion that much anymore. Sure, I enjoy sharing my capsules and love feeling good about what I wear, but they're just clothes at the end of the day. They won't make me happier, and I don't want to create the illusion that I've got it all together 24/7. Some days, I'll rock a great outfit and other days? Not so much. Some days I'll have a good hair day, and most days, I won't. The same goes for my make-up, a clean house, or a tidy closet. And that's totally okay!
So yes, I've been struggling with finding the right balance when using social media lately, especially since I'm trying to be on it less. But it looks like I'm not the only one with these feelings. Recently, I had some eye-opening conversations with other bloggers and fantastic content creators who share their thoughts about minimalism, sustainable living, and financial responsibility. We all agreed that staying true to ourselves in a space that often prioritizes materialism and consumerism is challenging. But this is how Instagram works today—daily fashion hauls, sale alerts, designer items, or Amazon purchases sell better than real life and more valuable content. Yes, it's sad and annoying, but that's the reality.
Also, what's been truly disappointing for me lately is how most brands focus on promoting their products primarily through Instagram Stories and Reels. It's confusing and demotivating for people who put a lot of heart and work into their blogs, newsletters, or podcasts and don't want to limit their activity mainly to short videos, swipe-up links, and discount codes. Such 'social media pressure' was one of the reasons why I gave up sponsored fashion collaborations on my Instagram profile. Simply, I want to make sure that I'm creating content because I genuinely want to, not because I feel obligated to. Plus, as someone who has built a loyal and highly engaged following, I feel it's important to take full responsibility for how I publish my posts on Instagram.
This summer, while reflecting on the content and values I want to share on my feed, I stumbled upon a quote from Joshua Becker, best-selling author of Things That Matter and The More of Less, who writes about minimalism:
"Not sure who needs to hear this, but you don't need to be on social media to make a difference in the world."
And I completely agree! It's not that I don't want to create my content anymore. I just needed an inspiring platform to share my experience of practicing minimalism, simple living, and capsule wardrobes, which feels more valuable than posting mirror selfies or fashion hauls on Instagram. I started writing about the capsule wardrobe concept not because it's a clickable topic but to share how a mindful approach to fashion has positively affected not just my wardrobe but also my finances and everyday life. And if my content can help at least one person find personal style, create a quality and functional wardrobe, or limit fast fashion purchases, I'll be more than happy!
What can you expect from The Closet Journal?

Most importantly, I want this space to be more than just about style—I'm eager to connect with you over topics like self-care, home life, finances, and creating a balanced daily routine. This blog is about all of that and more, and I feel re-energized to share my thoughts again!
